Super tutor

Daniel is one of our best Brazilian portuguese tutors. High-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Daniel

I study Portuguese at a university level and do research in Linguistics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (the #3 in Brazil). As someone who has studied several languages, I'm passionate about teaching and language learning and have been tutoring both English and Portuguese online since 2020. My experience with teaching also involves being a teacher assistant in Phonetics and Phonology, helping students write essays for college entrance exams as a volunteer, and making content related to language learning on social media. Other than that, I love learning new things, and my favorite hobby at the moment is playing the guitar :)

About the lesson

Our meetings are mostly based on conversations and everyday use of the language. One of my main goals is to make you more confident to speak Portuguese, as well as to equip you with the necessary skills to have more autonomy in your learning process. I put a heavy emphasis on student-centered learning and I'll help you achieve fluency by guiding you in your Portuguese journey and bringing real life material so we can learn aspects of the Portuguese language according to your needs and level of proficiency.

Here are some of the things we are going to do in our meetings: a) learn through music and books; b) read and write lots of texts; c) have discussions; d) talk about our daily lives; e) learn how to do things in Portuguese :)

Deadly! Daniel is extremely helpful when setting up classwork and working with me to create homework which would maximize my engagement and growth. He's very knowledgeable not only about the language and pedagogy but linguistics generally which contributes to how engaging his lessons are. He's easily one of the best instructors I've had in language.

Deadly! Daniel is an excellent teacher who emphasizes real conversation and functional language over just memorization. From our very first meeting he was extremely patient and thorough, and it was very easy to tell he had taken the time to learn my individual learning style and preferences. I look forward to continuing our lessons.

Andrew is a really motivated and reliable student — on top of being a good language learner. I like working with him and I always learn something from him as well, which is something I appreciate and makes me look forward to our next meeting.
