About Laura
I have a background in Music (BMus Hons) and play classical piano. I have been working as a 1 to 1 Learning Support Assistant for 2 years within primary education, where building a positive and trusting relationship with students has been vital and extremely rewarding. Managing emotions and behaviors is a huge part of my role and I get great pleasure from helping turn children's worries and lack of confidence to a positive outlook and 'try my best' attitude.
I have a broad, in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and a large range of strategies to support your child in Maths and English and hope to make a real impact on their learning and mindset.

I take care in ensuring a nurturing, safe space for students to learn and will help build their confidence through positive, constructive support. I tailor each session based on the child's needs and gaps in their knowledge to build on foundation skills and work on deepening their comprehension and reasoning.
Through fun, practical approaches with visual aids, games and hands on resources, I will work on building Maths and English skills in line with the national curriculum and what the student is learning at school, giving them the confidence to shine and feel proud of their work.
My lessons are for Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and early Key Stage 2 (ages 7-9) and will typically be for 1 hour.
