About Jumanah

I have always loved STEM subjects. Throughout my education, I have been fascinated by how science helps us understand the world and solve real problems. The idea that there is always something new to discover is one of the reasons I was drawn to science in the first place.

For a long time, I considered becoming a teacher or a researcher because I loved the idea of spending my life learning new things and sharing that knowledge with others. I genuinely enjoy my lessons and find it exciting when a difficult concept suddenly makes sense. As a tutor, I hope to help students experience that same feeling and develop confidence in their own abilities.

What excites me most about science is its potential to improve people's lives. While medicine is often the first thing people think of, scientific discovery has a much broader impact, influencing everything from public health and agriculture to technology and environmental sustainability. Learning about these possibilities has made me realise how much impact individuals can have through knowledge, curiosity and innovation.

Above all, I want my students to recognise their own potential. Whether they go on to become scientists, engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, teachers, or pursue a completely different path, I hope they leave my lessons with greater confidence in their abilities and a better understanding of the difference they can make in the world. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent grades, but also to inspire curiosity, ambition and a genuine appreciation for learning.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor offering GCSE Edexcel Mathematics, GCSE AQA Science, and A-Level AQA Biology tuition. Having recently completed A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, with predicted grades of A*A*A and a conditional offer to study Biology at the University of Oxford, I understand what it takes to succeed in challenging exams and enjoy helping students build both confidence and understanding.

My teaching approach focuses on identifying gaps in knowledge and tailoring lessons to each student's needs. I believe that strong exam performance comes from a combination of genuine understanding, effective revision techniques, and regular practice with exam-style questions.

During lessons, I explain concepts clearly, break down difficult topics into manageable steps, and use targeted questioning to check understanding. I also teach students how to identify key words in exam questions, avoid common mistakes, and structure answers to maximise marks.

I have experience tutoring GCSE Mathematics and Science students in one-to-one sessions, helping them strengthen their understanding of difficult topics and improve their exam technique. By working through exam-style questions together, I help students gain confidence in applying their knowledge to unfamiliar problems and develop effective approaches to maximise marks.

My academic achievements include a Gold Award in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, Silver Awards in both the UK Mathematics Challenge and Biology Olympiad, and Grade 9s in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Alongside tutoring, I have developed strong communication skills through leadership roles, debating, Model United Nations, and volunteering.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged if required. I teach GCSE Mathematics, GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as A-Level Biology. My lessons are suitable for students aiming to improve their confidence, boost their grades, strengthen their understanding of key topics, or prepare for upcoming exams.

Having recently completed both GCSEs and A-Levels, I can offer up-to-date insight into exam boards, revision strategies, and study techniques that work. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to develop the confidence and independent learning skills that will benefit them long after exam season.
