About Arslan
I'm currently studying A-Level Latin with OCR after achieving an A* in GCSE Latin at grammar school. Having peer mentored students for the past couple of years, I've enjoyed helping others in subjects they find challenging, and I'd love to continue doing that through tutoring while developing skills that will also benefit my future career.
I offer tutoring for GCSE Latin and younger students, with lessons suited to each student's ability and goals. I'm happy teaching grammar, vocabulary, translation and unseen passages. I like to combine a friendly, relaxed approach with structured, exam-focused practice so students not only understand the language but also know how to tackle exam questions confidently.
Through peer mentoring, I've helped students by explaining content, working through translations together, practising vocabulary and adapting explanations depending on how much support they needed. One student I mentored improved from a grade 5 to a grade 8 in just six months, which showed me how valuable consistent support and clear teaching can be. Lessons are usually around an hour, although I'm happy to adapt the length where needed.

I've been mentoring students at my school for a couple of years, and I try to make my lessons clear and suited to each student. For Latin, I like to focus on understanding how the language works rather than just memorising things. We can work through grammar and vocabulary together, practise translating sentences step by step, and use short quizzes and exam-style questions to build confidence. I’ll also help students spot things like cases, verb forms and common constructions when translating, so they can approach unfamiliar sentences more confidently. Lessons are usually around an hour, but I’m happy to adjust this depending on what works best for you.
