About Leo

Hi, I’m Leo — a tutor with a background in Earth Science, History, Politics, and Geography, and a strong foundation in supporting students in both school-based literacy programs and university-level academic studies. I hold a Bachelor of Science and Arts (Monash University), where I majored in Earth Science and History, with additional study in politics, geography, and social change. In my current role as a Literacy Coordinator, I work with students across the curriculum to build skills in writing, analysis, and content engagement — especially in the humanities and in English. I support students from Years 7 to university with: • Understanding complex humanities concepts • Structuring assignments and essays • Analyzing historical sources (primary, secondary) and political arguments • Developing confident, evidence-based writing My approach is student-centered, scaffolded, and inclusive. I enjoy working with neurodiverse learners or those who benefit from structured, step-by-step support. Whether you’re prepping for exams or navigating a uni assignment, I tailor sessions to your goals, pace, and strengths.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring in English, history, and the humanities for students from Years 7 to university level. My lessons are flexible, collaborative, and designed to help students build confidence in writing, critical thinking, and study organization.

For high school students, I focus on:
• Essay planning and paragraph structure
• Text and source analysis
• Responding to prompts and building arguments
• Developing expression, tone and personal voice in writing
• Building assignment confidence through scaffolds and strategies

For university students, sessions involve:
• Breaking down readings and identifying key arguments
• Planning, structuring, and scaffolding assignments
• Managing time and workload
• Strengthening academic writing and research skills

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s current goals. I use visual organizers, sentence starters, guided discussion, and feedback to keep things clear. I also bring experience supporting neurodiverse learners, helping them stay organized and reduce overwhelm. Typical sessions run for 45–60 minutes, with the option to adjust depending on focus or student need.
