About Tia

Hi, my name’s Tia. I’m a 3rd-year medical student at King’s College London with a strong track record in academics and admissions. I achieved mostly A stars and As at GCSE and A* A at A-level, and received 4 out of 4 offers for medicine from King’s, Queen Mary, UCL, and Nottingham, ultimately choosing King’s. I also scored 2900 in my UCAT, placing me in the top 5% nationally. I have 5 years of tutoring experience, helping students excel in English, Biology, Chemistry, as well as UCAT and BMAT preparation. I’m particularly experienced in guiding students through the medical school application process, helping them gain offers at top universities. I’m also a Grade 7 piano player and enjoy sharing my passion for music alongside academics. My sessions are tailored, engaging, and focused on results. About the lesson

I aim to make learning engaging, clear, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on breaking down complex topics into manageable steps and adapting my teaching style to suit how each student learns best. For example, I use diagrams, flowcharts, and mind maps for visual learners, step-by-step explanations for logical thinkers, and real-life examples to make concepts more relatable. I place a strong emphasis on applying knowledge, not just memorising it. Together, we work through past papers, practise exam-style questions, and go through mark schemes so students know exactly how to structure answers and gain maximum marks. I also teach strategies like active recall, spaced repetition, and mnemonics to make learning more effective and long-lasting. Typical Lesson: Lessons usually last 60–90 minutes, but I can adapt this based on the student’s needs. Sessions are interactive, allowing plenty of time for questions, discussion, and problem-solving. Qualifications and Experience: I am a 3rd-year medical student at King’s College London with 5 years of tutoring experience in science subjects. I have worked with GCSE and A-level students, helping them build confidence and improve both understanding and exam performance. Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are ideal for GCSE and A-level students (typically 14–18 years old) who want to strengthen their understanding of biology, chemistry, and science in general, improve exam technique, or gain confidence in tackling challenging topics.
