About Mariam

With over 15 years of experience in chess, I hold the Women's FIDE Master (WFM) title and have been the six-time Armenian youth champion, Armenian women's vice-champion. My international rating is 2070, and my national rating is 2266. I have also participated in numerous international tournaments, where I have achieved victory. I am a psychologist and currently pursuing my doctoral studies. My background in psychology allows me to approach chess from a unique perspective, helping students not only improve their game but also develop mental resilience and focus.

About the lesson

I believe that chess is best learned through a structured yet engaging approach. I focus on interactive lessons, combining theoretical concepts with practical exercises and real-game examples.

My teaching method includes:
Explaining key principles with clear, real-life chess scenarios.
Encouraging students to think critically rather than memorize moves.
Using puzzles, game analysis, and tactical exercises to reinforce learning.
Analyzing students' games to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Providing customized study plans based on the student’s level and goals.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and needs, but a typical session includes:

Warm-up – Reviewing key concepts, solving tactical puzzles.
Main Lesson – Studying a specific topic (openings, middlegame strategies, endgames, positional play, etc.).
Practical Application – Analyzing famous games, playing practice positions, or reviewing the student’s games.
Homework/Exercises – Assignments for independent practice.
