About Maxim
I have been playing the violin for 20 years and have been teaching violin and viola for 8 years in schools, music studios and privately. I have played in orchestras, including the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet Orchestra. I perform in the Briar String Quartet which showcases repertoire from Classical, Folk, Pop and Jazz styles.
I have skills in composition and arranging, and am happy to arrange songs for students if needed.
I have recently graduated from the Master of Music (Performance Teaching) at Melbourne University, and will begin studying the Master of Teaching (Secondary) in February 2022.
I teach my students typically from the AMEB and Suzuki books, but am also happy to teach popular music or repertoire of the student's choice.
I am personable and patient with my students.
I help students to break down difficult skills so that they can confidently overcome challenges.
I am happy to incorporate theory and aural skills as well as improvisation if the student desires.
