About Harry

I understand that it can be hard to study. In my early years of education, I struggled and found it hard to keep up; I just couldn't quite engage with the content. However, I realised that it was the method of delivery and not the content itself that was causing problems. I made a change and achieved A, A, A in maths, chemistry and physics at A level and a 9 in those subjects at GCSE.

Wanting to share my methods and show people that studying can be more practical than staring at a book is what drives me to teach. I want to understand how my students think and use this to teach in the way that works best for them.

About the lesson

I believe that the best way to learn is by practically solving problems. Proving to yourself that the skills you're learning are more than just tools for an exam.

By using models where possible and applying real-world situations to questions, I find that students not only engage more but also retain the information for longer. Simplicity is key. In my lessons, I break down problems and topics of study into much more manageable chunks.

I have worked as a student ambassador for the University of Sussex for the last 2 years. This has led me into primary schools and colleges to help students with their studies. I have worked with ages from 10-18 and am happy to tutor anyone of any age. Typical lessons are an hour as I find this length to not be overwhelming for students. I'm happy to do longer sessions if so desired.
