About Plaxedes
Hi, I’m Plaxedes! I am a passionate and dedicated educator currently based in Johannesburg. I hold a Bachelor of Education as well as Honors and a Master’s degree in Inclusive Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, and I completed an Advanced TEFL Diploma to further strengthen my teaching skills.
I chose to teach English because I enjoy helping learners grow in confidence and reach their academic and personal goals. My background in Inclusive Education has given me valuable skills in supporting learners with diverse needs and creating a positive, learner-centered environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to participate.
Before teaching online, I gained extensive experience teaching and tutoring learners from different educational backgrounds, including university students in Educational Studies and school learners in English and Geography. These experiences strengthened my passion for education and inspired me to create engaging lessons that are interactive, supportive, and tailored to individual learning styles. I enjoy connecting with students from different cultures and helping them develop their communication skills in a comfortable and motivating learning environment.

My teaching methodology is learner-centred, inclusive, and interactive, focusing on developing confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills. What makes me unique as a teacher is my ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs and create a supportive environment where learners feel motivated to participate. I am proficient in English and Shona. Students can expect engaging, well-structured lessons that encourage discussion, real-life application, and active participation. My lessons are aimed at beginner to advanced learners, including school learners, university students, and adults seeking to improve their English communication skills.
