About Monica

I am a native Italian tutor with a Master’s degree in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language and over 15 years of teaching experience. I run my own online Italian tutoring business and teach students from beginner to advanced level, including GCSE students and learners preparing for the B1 Italian citizenship exam.

I love languages myself, so I understand both the excitement and the challenges of learning a new language. I also continue to develop professionally through regular training and ongoing professional development, so I can keep improving the way I support my students.

Over the years, I have worked with learners of different ages, levels and backgrounds, helping them improve their Italian for school, travel, work, family, citizenship, conversation and personal interest.

I know that learning a language can sometimes feel challenging, especially when it comes to speaking. That is why I aim to create a friendly and supportive space where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and improving step by step.

My lessons are personalised, clear and practical, so you can build confidence and use Italian more naturally in real-life situations.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is friendly, outgoing, and focused on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages relaxation and facilitates learning. I believe a comfortable environment is key to helping students feel confident and engaged. In my lessons, I primarily speak Italian, simplifying the language at lower levels (when needed) to ensure clarity and understanding. I keep students motivated through a variety of activities, including role-plays, listening exercises, games, and songs, making learning both fun and effective. I also take the time to understand each student's reasons for learning Italian, allowing me to tailor my lessons to their specific needs and help them achieve their goals
