About Mark
I’m a Senior Software Engineer and Software Architect with more than 30 years of professional experience solving complex technical and analytical problems.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked extensively with math, science, computers, software, engineering, and technology, and I’ve spent years mentoring and helping newer engineers develop their skills. I’ve also helped students with very different learning styles understand difficult subjects by finding explanations that work for them.
One of my strengths is taking something that seems complicated and breaking it down into clear, manageable steps. I’m patient, practical, and focused on understanding—not just memorizing enough information to pass a test.
I especially enjoy helping students who are stuck on an assignment, falling behind, or frustrated because something just isn't making sense. My goal is to help you solve the problem in front of you while also developing the skills and confidence to tackle the next one yourself.
I bring a real-world perspective to tutoring. After three decades of applying math, science, and technology professionally, I can often show students not only how something works, but why it matters and where it is actually used.

I help students build confidence in math, science, technology, and other STEM-related subjects by making difficult concepts easier to understand and apply.
My lessons are tailored to the individual student. We can work through homework and challenging assignments, prepare for tests and exams, review material that wasn't clear in class, or strengthen foundational skills that may be holding you back.
With more than 30 years of real-world experience as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Architect, I approach math, science, and technology as practical problem-solving subjects—not simply formulas and facts to memorize. I break complicated problems into manageable steps and explain concepts in different ways until they make sense.
I can help with general math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, basic trigonometry, general science, physical science, introductory physics, computer science, computers and technology, as well as general STEM homework and assignments.
Whether you're trying to raise your grade, get through a difficult assignment, prepare for an upcoming test, or simply understand a subject better, we'll work at your pace and focus on the areas where you need the most help.
