About Matthew
I graduated from Eastchester High School with honors in 2024. I am currently heading into my sophomore year at Wake Forest University. I intend on majoring in a Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics. As a STEM major, I have taken, struggled, and succeeded in various different math courses in middle school, high school, and college. I used to struggle a lot in math and understand how confusing learning math can be. I hope to connect and teach my students how to overcome their struggles in math just as I did. I believe that any student is capable of succeeding and I am willing to be patient as well as provide a multitude of learning techniques to ensure that all my students learn effectively.

Building confidence and awareness through step-by-step processes that help students notice their mistakes but also show them how to approach difficult problems in the future. I will assign a few practice problems for students that should be done on their personal time, but can be done in a session if needed. After that, we will go into any material misunderstood in class or from homework. Lastly, but most importantly, I want my students to summarize what they learned by teaching the material back to me and go through 1-2 practice problems using the methodology taught during the lesson. These lessons are for students who need help in middle school to high school math classes, especially those learning any level of algebra or geometry.
