• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I've always loved Maths and Science as a student, but as soon as I hit 11th standard, my confidence started going down as I couldn't connect with my teachers or catch-up with the pace of the subjects anymore. Eventually from a curious learner, I was a quiet backbencher who almost gave up. This experience made me realize how crucial a supportive and nurturing environment is for learning. In college, I started teaching younger kids to create that positive space I wish I had.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My struggles in school inspired me to teach. I want to be the teacher who creates a friendly, approachable space for students to learn and grow without pressure, understanding each unique student personally according to their needs, and helping them become confident, successful individuals.

• How does your work help society?

  I aim to make learning enjoyable and stress-free, helping kids to express themselves and develop a love for education. By fostering curiosity and confidence, I hope to create thoughtful, capable individuals who contribute positively to society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My mother and husband are my role models. My mom encouraged me to teach, and my husband has always supported and motivated me to pursue my passion.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I have a strong passion for sports and played competitive lawn tennis for 10 years. I was also an NCC cadet for 3 years, gaining experiences like flying a trainee aircraft, rifle shooting, and aircraft training. I've cleared several defense exams like AFCAT and CDS. Currently, I'm passionate about writing short stories and poems. Also, I enjoy spending time with family, listening to music, and reading storybooks.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  I've been teaching a 4-year-old online, and although I was initially unsure about teaching such a young child through the online medium, we quickly developed a beautiful bond. His curiosity and excitement for learning reminded me of the true joy of teaching . Now, at 8 years old, he continues his journey in Mathematics with me. It's been both the most challenging and rewarding experience of my teaching career.
