About Mia
My passion for mathematics emerged from a fascination with patterns, logic, and analytical thinking. I pursued an M.Sc in Mathematical Sciences to deepen my understanding of advanced mathematical concepts and their real-world applications. Over 11 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students at various levels—from elementary school math to SAT math preparation and introductory calculus—guiding them patiently and helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong mathematical learning. I believe that effective teaching requires attentiveness and adaptability. I take time to understand how each student processes information, adjusting explanations using visual aids, step-by-step reasoning, and relatable examples. I encourage questions, foster curiosity, and emphasize that mistakes are an essential part of learning, helping learners develop confidence and resilience in their problem-solving abilities. Beyond teaching, I remain actively engaged with mathematics through curriculum development, problem-solving practice, and research into effective pedagogical strategies. Teaching math is profoundly fulfilling because I witness learners grow in clarity, independence, and self-confidence. Helping students recognize their logical abilities and achieve their potential is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Mathematics becomes truly engaging when learners are encouraged to understand the reasoning behind every concept. My lessons cover elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, emphasizing logical connections, conceptual clarity, and problem-solving strategies. I focus on making each lesson structured, clear, and calm, helping learners build confidence gradually. By integrating explanations, examples, and step-by-step reasoning, students develop the ability to approach mathematical problems methodically.
Lesson planning is tailored to the learner’s current level and progress. Elementary school math focuses on number sense, basic arithmetic, and understanding word problems. Middle school math introduces geometry concepts, proportional reasoning, and foundational algebra with visual models and interactive exercises. Advanced learners work on algebraic techniques, SAT math strategies, and introductory Calculus concepts, focusing on accuracy, logical progression, and application of knowledge. Carefully selected practice activities ensure reinforcement and steady progress.
Maths lessons also help students develop resilience, focus, and confidence. As learners gain clarity, they are more willing to tackle complex challenges independently. Many students begin to appreciate mathematics as a structured, logical, and achievable subject. My goal is to help learners feel capable, confident, and motivated to excel in mathematical problem-solving and reasoning.
