About Leah
I developed a passion for teaching mathematics by recognising that many students struggle not from lack of ability, but from gaps in structured instruction and conceptual understanding. This led me to pursue an M.Sc in Mathematics Education, where I studied curriculum design, cognitive approaches, and problem-solving strategies for learners at all levels. Over the past 11 years, I have helped students master elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, building both competence and confidence. I teach with patience, empathy, and clarity, using stepwise explanations, visual aids, interactive exercises, and real-life applications to make maths approachable. Students often start hesitant or anxious but gradually develop the ability to reason through problems independently. Watching learners transform from uncertainty to mastery is immensely rewarding. Outside teaching, I explore advanced problem-solving techniques, educational research, and creative curriculum development. This allows me to keep lessons engaging, current, and effective, helping students develop long-lasting skills and a confident approach to mathematics.

Mathematics becomes enjoyable when students see the interconnectedness of concepts and can approach problems with confidence and clarity. In my lessons, I teach elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths through structured, step-by-step instruction. I emphasise conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and systematic problem-solving so that learners not only know how to solve problems but also understand why the methods work. Lessons are tailored to the student’s level. Beginners focus on foundational skills, such as number sense, arithmetic, pattern recognition, early algebra, and basic geometry. Intermediate learners develop multi-step problem-solving strategies, geometric reasoning, algebraic fluency, proportionality, and data interpretation skills. Advanced learners tackle SAT maths challenges, strategic problem-solving, time management, and complex reasoning. Each session integrates exercises, discussion, and guided practice to strengthen both skills and confidence. Maths lessons also enhance broader cognitive abilities such as critical thinking, perseverance, and independence. As students gain mastery in algebra, geometry, and SAT maths, they develop the confidence to tackle challenges across subjects. My goal is to equip learners with both strong analytical skills and a positive, empowered mindset towards mathematics.
