About Zachary

My passion for mathematics started with a fascination for patterns, logic, and problem-solving in the natural and technological world. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics and an M.Sc in Applied Statistics, blending theoretical rigour with practical applications. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided learners at all levels, from beginners developing foundational skills to advanced students preparing for competitive exams, research, or academic projects. My teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, analytical reasoning, and confidence-building alongside conceptual understanding.

I teach with patience, empathy, and structured methodology, using clear explanations, visual aids, and practical exercises to make abstract concepts tangible. I encourage independent thinking, inquiry, and curiosity, helping students develop both competence and intellectual confidence. My lessons focus on understanding why concepts work, fostering long-term comprehension and analytical skill.

Outside teaching, I engage in applied mathematical research, problem-solving initiatives, and statistical modelling projects. By incorporating real-world applications, students gain insight into the relevance of mathematics beyond the classroom. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to mastery, building confidence, analytical skills, and curiosity, is deeply rewarding. I aim to guide students to academic excellence while cultivating a lasting appreciation for the elegance and utility of mathematics.

Mathematics becomes more meaningful when students develop not only technical skills but also logical reasoning and problem-solving confidence. My lessons cover algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, and applied problem-solving strategies. I focus on conceptual understanding, helping learners see patterns, identify solutions, and build strong analytical reasoning skills. Lessons integrate visual demonstrations, real-life examples, interactive exercises, and step-by-step explanations, making complex topics approachable, engaging, and intellectually stimulating.

Lesson plans are tailored to learners’ abilities. Beginners explore arithmetic, basic algebra, and geometry to establish a solid foundation. Intermediate learners engage in calculus, combinatorics, probability, and multi-step problem-solving exercises to strengthen analytical thinking. Advanced learners dive into abstract algebra, optimisation, modelling, and complex problem-solving for academic competitions, exams, or research projects. Guided practice, scenario-based exercises, and conceptual reinforcement are incorporated into every lesson to ensure understanding, confidence, and mastery.

Beyond academics, mathematics lessons enhance structured thinking, critical reasoning, and analytical problem-solving skills applicable across subjects and real-life situations. Students gain confidence in tackling challenging problems and develop a deeper appreciation for the logical and creative aspects of mathematics. My goal is to foster both academic excellence and lifelong curiosity in learners, guiding them to achieve personal growth and mastery in mathematics.
