About Amr
Hi, I'm Amr! I'm currently studying Mathematics at King's College London. Achieving (concealed information) in GCSE's and doing A-level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (1st year), I've always enjoyed maths because I like the challenge of solving problems and understanding how things work, and I'd love to help others feel the same way. I know that maths can be frustrating when it doesn't click, so I try to explain things in a way that's easy to understand without making anyone feel rushed or judged. My goal is to help students become more confident and show them that they're capable of doing well with the right support.

I think one of the biggest problems with maths is that a lot of people are taught to memorise methods without really understanding what's going on. In my lessons I try to do the opposite. I like to explain why something works first, because once you understand the idea behind it, the questions become much less intimidating.
Everyone learns at a different pace, so I don't have one fixed way of teaching. I'll usually start by seeing what you're already confident with and where you're getting stuck, then we'll work through examples together before you have a go yourself. If something doesn't click the first time, that's completely fine—I don't mind explaining it in a different way until it makes sense.
Lessons are usually around an hour long, but I'm happy to do longer sessions if someone's preparing for mocks or final exams.
I'm currently going into my third year studying Mathematics at King's College London. Studying maths at university has really improved the way I think about solving problems, and it's also shown me that there's usually more than one way to explain a topic. I enjoy helping people build confidence in maths, especially when it's a subject they've struggled with before.
I'm mainly looking to teach GCSE and A-Level Maths, but I'm also happy to help younger students who want to improve or get ahead. Whether you're aiming for a higher grade or just want maths to make a bit more sense, I'll do my best to make lessons useful and easy to follow.
