About Jake
I have been passionate about mathematics since early in my academic journey, drawn to patterns, logical thinking, and problem-solving. This inspired me to pursue a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics, providing both theoretical understanding and practical expertise. Over 9 years, I have helped students at all levels—from elementary school math and middle school math to SAT math, algebra, geometry, and Calculus—develop mastery, confidence, and enjoyment in mathematics. My teaching emphasizes clarity, engagement, and adaptability. I use visual tools, practical examples, and interactive problem-solving to help students internalize concepts. I encourage curiosity, independent reasoning, and confidence in every lesson, making mathematics approachable and rewarding. Outside the classroom, I explore mathematical puzzles, research, and real-world applications to enrich lessons. Teaching mathematics is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners develop analytical skills, structured problem-solving, and confidence, while cultivating a genuine appreciation for the beauty and logic of mathematics.

Beginners concentrate on elementary school math and middle school math, mastering arithmetic, fractions, decimals, and foundational geometry. Intermediate learners focus on algebra, SAT math problem-solving strategies, and applied geometry exercises. Advanced students explore complex algebra, Calculus, and multi-step reasoning tasks while preparing for higher-level studies or competitive exams. Lessons are carefully paced to ensure comprehension, fluency, and confidence at each stage.
