About Jack
I have been tutoring Maths for a high-school student for 1 year, and tutored English for a primary student last year. I chose to begin tutoring Maths to get some light income but found helping others learn and grow to be incredibly rewarding. I saw how much it improved their grades and thought I could utilise my unique teaching method to help others that are finding Maths challenging.

My teaching method involves tailoring the learning content specifically to each student. Often, things such as maths can be difficult for students to understand, as the language we traditionally use in the education system to interpret it can seem so foreign. As a matter of fact, Maths is considered by many a language of its own! My role is to reshape that content into a more digestible format, utilising the skills you already have to make doing Maths actually fun! Positive reinforcement and a relaxed teaching environment can significantly reduce stress around the subject, which can help performance in assessments.
I just graduated from high school in 2020 and know about what topics you / your child will be assessed on. Throughout high school, I stayed in the top maths class. However, I did struggle with mental health issues, which is why I think that this relaxed environment I establish is so important! I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by some of these assessments and want to make your high school experience as enjoyable as possible. My teaching method is very flexible, adjusting topics to what you want to work on. I have a broad knowledge of K-10 Maths, so please feel free to message me about what you would like to work on!

Deadly! Jack has been tutoring my son for a few weeks now, and he's been excellent. Very impressed with his preparation and how engaged my son has been. I've overheard plenty of 'Ohhhhh, I get it now' comments from my son during the sessions! Long may it continue.

Details
I may extend our sessions by 5-10 minutes if I feel like they are crucial to the student's understanding of what we have worked on free of charge. If it extends longer than that, such as by 30 minutes, then half of my hourly rate will be added on to the total session cost.
