About Alexandra
I hold a PhD in Data Science and Statistics and currently work as a Postdoctoral Researcher / Research Associate in a Mathematics department, specialising in biostatistics and data analysis.
My background includes extensive use of statistical modelling, machine learning, and quantitative methods, which I apply to real-world problems in health and science.
I also hold a teaching qualification (AFHEA) and have experience teaching students across a wide range of ages, including Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and GCSE Mathematics, as well as supporting university students with quantitative and statistical concepts.
I am particularly experienced in adapting lessons to different learning styles, including younger learners and neurodivergent students, and I focus on building strong foundations, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

I offer support in Key Stages 1–3, GCSE, and A-level Mathematics and Statistics, focusing on building confidence and developing a clear understanding of core concepts.
My approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student. I focus on:
- breaking problems down into clear, step-by-step methods
- developing strong understanding of key concepts and exam techniques
- using targeted practice questions to build confidence and accuracy
I am particularly experienced in supporting students who feel stuck or lack confidence in maths. I adapt lessons to suit different learning styles, including neurodivergent learners, creating a calm and encouraging environment where students can progress at their own pace.
My goal is to make maths feel manageable, logical, and even enjoyable, while helping students achieve their academic goals.
