About Dr Neri

I am a full-time mathematics tutor based in Sheffield, UK providing lessons ONLINE and IN-PERSON helping people better understand mathematics across many levels (GCSE, A-Level, IB, and Undergraduate) and many disciplines (engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, finance, and more).

My academic background includes PhD in Applied Mathematics (2025), an MMath degree (2025), and A-Levels (2016). Also, my Enhanced DBS Check is available to view upon request.

Throughout my undergraduate degree, I have been tutoring and helping many struggling GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate students get to grips with their mathematics, and be confident that they are more than able to achieve the highest possible grade in their examinations. I value the flexibility, creativity, problem-solving aspects of the job, but the biggest reward is seeing someone’s abilities grow.

My lessons are relaxed, and include practice on targeted topics alongside important exam technique. The levels at which I offer tuition are as follows:

> GCSE / IGCSE Maths and Further Maths,

> A-Level Maths and Further Maths,

> International A-Level Maths and Further Maths,

> International Baccalaureate (MYP, AASL, AAHL, AISL, AISL),

> SQA National 5 Maths,

> SQA National Higher and Advanced Higher Maths,

> AP Precalculus, Calculus AB / BC, and Statistics,

> Undergraduate / Postgraduate study.

About the lesson

In the first lesson I will always aim to understand the student's needs and explain how I can help. I create a plan to work within a timeframe and get a good start on the content.

Typically I will begin by assessing a student's mathematical background and current understanding to see how much support is required to get them to where they want to be in terms of mathematical ability in line with any specifications of the course.

Mathematics can be difficult to work with at any level and with over 9 years of consistent tutoring experience I aim to explain complex concepts using simpler terminology, diagrams, and patterns. It also helps to see the bigger picture so I always aim to give motivations to study certains areas of mathematics and demonstrate its applicability in the real world. In addition to my private tuition over the years I have also been involved in school outreach programmes while I was an undergraduate (2016 - 2020), and seminar delivery as part of of my PhD (2020 - 2024).

My lessons are for anyone looking to improve in maths whether that is for academic or recreational purposes. The lessons are one hour long and previosuly successful students have always booked consistently whenever they were stuck or were looking for exam preparation.
