About Reid
I am a Math tutor with over five years of teaching experience and an MSc in Applied Mathematics. My teaching goes beyond traditional problem solving and explores how mathematics explains real-world complexity. I integrate ideas from chaos theory and fractal geometry to help students understand complex systems and natural phenomena. Topics such as iterated functions, self-similarity, and strange attractors are introduced in a clear and intuitive way. I use visual examples, graphs, and simple simulations to make abstract ideas easier to grasp. This approach helps learners see patterns where others see confusion. I enjoy working with curious students who like to ask “why” and “how.” Many of my learners are interested in interdisciplinary science, physics, biology, and computational thinking. Lessons encourage exploration, creativity, and logical reasoning. Confidence grows as understanding deepens. The aim is to build strong mathematical foundations while nurturing curiosity. Students develop into well-rounded and confident mathematicians with a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of mathematics.

My teaching approach in Mathematics is gentle, reflective, and deeply focused on clear thinking.
I believe higher mathematics becomes meaningful when concepts are understood, not memorized.
I guide students through core areas such as abstract algebra, number theory, mathematical proofs, and advanced theoretical mathematics with patience and care.
Each topic is broken down into ideas, patterns, and logical connections.
I work especially well with DIY learners and researchers who enjoy exploring mathematics independently.
They are encouraged to ask deep questions and develop their own mathematical voice.
Instead of giving quick answers, I help learners discover pathways to complex theorems.
This builds confidence and long-term understanding.
Mistakes are treated as part of learning.
Progress comes from reflection and curiosity.
The goal is not just to solve problems, but to think mathematically.
Students gradually develop the skills needed to excel in advanced mathematics and research-oriented study.
