About Stephanie

My experience has allowed me to teach within the MLB organizations, corporate organizations, and academic students wanting to fit into their communities more comfortably. I enjoy building a supportive relationship that will give each student the opportunity to reach their language and cultural goals. I love the flexibility of individualized lesson plans and learning about other cultures as I teach my native language. If you are not having a good time learning, I am not doing it right.

I have a MEd in TESOL and Administration in Education with 12 hours towards my PhD. I hold an AZDE teaching license, and Arizona LVP 1 fingerprint clearance background check. I use an intuitive learning model as I believe all students are different and their needs should be met in a customized way rather than a pre-packaged textbook model that was designed for a median student of an undefined age. Your life experience and interests should always be considered when designing your curriculum which will give you the best results.

I am not just another native English speaker who thinks speaking English is the only experience an effective language teacher needs to bring success to their students.

About the lesson

I believe language is best learned using the organic methods we use when we learn our first and second languages. We begin lessons with speaking and listening activities, followed by written application, and reading comprehension. Lessons are tailored for the student's level of proficiency and individual goals. I have had success in guiding students to pass TOELF, and IELTS. I have experience in teaching teens and adults to participate in press conferences in English language with no interpreter. I have supported primary and secondary students in graduating out of academic ESL using state based assessments.
