About Rhett
I pursued my passion in teaching during my time as a graduate student in a biomedical science PhD program. After completion of a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Cognitive Neuroscience, I obtained a PhD in Physiology and Pharmacology. My published research is in the field of Neuroscience emphasizing on the neurocircuitry of motivated behaviors. I have taught at the undergraduate, graduate and medical school levels and have tutored at all levels including high school. I have attended and presented on now to incorporate active learning strategies into teaching and take a very active approach in tutoring.

Lessons are strategically planned towards students' needs and learning styles. The general format would be brief explanations followed by active exercises such as construction of thought maps, flowcharts or multiple choice questions. Subsequent sessions would build upon previous sessions starting with short quizzes followed up with discussions of problematic concepts prior to starting new material.
