About Chanel

Hi! I’m Chanel, a medical student at the University of Birmingham with a genuine passion for teaching and helping students reach their potential.

I’ve always loved learning, particularly the sciences, and achieved 3 A*s and an A at A-level, including A*s in Biology and Chemistry, before going on to study Medicine. Having gone through competitive exams myself, I understand how overwhelming studying can sometimes feel and, more importantly, how much difference the right support can make.

I tutor students across a wide range of ages and abilities, from primary school and 7+/9+/11+ preparation through to GCSE and A-level. I teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science, Maths and English, alongside entrance-exam preparation.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging and structured, but I also want lessons to be enjoyable. I don’t believe in simply giving students information to memorise. I focus on helping them genuinely understand what they are learning, develop effective problem-solving skills and become confident tackling questions independently.

Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to their individual needs. Whether a student needs help catching up, wants to consolidate what they have learnt at school, is preparing for an important examination or is aiming for the very highest grades, I’ll work with them to identify exactly what they need to improve.

Outside of tutoring, I’m studying Medicine and enjoy staying active, travelling and learning languages. I’m friendly, approachable and always happy to answer questions, so students should feel completely comfortable saying when they don’t understand something — there are no silly questions!

About the lesson

I’m a medical student at the University of Birmingham and an experienced tutor passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

I achieved an A in A-level Biology* and now study Medicine, meaning I have an extensive understanding of biological concepts and how they connect to real-world medicine.

I offer Biology tuition from KS3 through GCSE and A-level, with lessons tailored to each student’s ability, exam board and goals.
