About Sophie

I'm a third-year medical student at Barts and the London would love to help you get ready for those important exams! I received A*s in both subjects at GCSE, As at A-level and constantly developing these skills during my university course.

About the lesson

I am experienced in tutoring GCSE level in maths, biology and chemistry and A-Level biology. I can also give tuition regarding medical school applications, for which I have experience on medical school interview panels to draw on. I like to use practical methods and assessment using past papers to help identify weak areas and then use many different resources to help explain concepts.

I take an individual approach student, letting them guide the structure and material covered in the session depending on what they are struggling with and what they'd like to focus on. I believe one of the most important thing to excelling in exams is confidence which is what I aim to give all my students!

Sophie has been tutoring my 12 year old daughter remotely via Zoom for the last 3 months during the lockdown, the sessions are every week and have covered year 7 maths and science topics as well as specific revision and practice areas. The sessions have been really successful in building my daughters confidence in the topics covered and she is now much happier with her maths and science work generally, and will solve problems using the methods that she has learned with Sophie. It has proved really helpful and I would recommend Sophie as a friendly and approachable tutor who communicates well and is a good teacher.
