About Harvey
I am a second-year medical student at Imperial College London, having obtained a distinction* in the first-year exams. I got 4 A*s at A-level (in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) and completed an extended project qualification parallel to my a-levels based on a biological concept for which I obtained the maximum grade. I achieved an A* in GCSE French, which I continue at University parallel to my medical degree; I have just finished AS level.
I have previous tutoring experience through the Delta Academy Trust where I taught GCSE Maths students whilst I was an A-level student. All the students I helped to teach achieved the pass grade and it was lovely seeing how pleased they were on their results day.
Teaching is an integral part of any medical degree. All medical practitioners and students are simultaneously learning and teaching. I have experience teaching peers and younger medical students in the year below.
As an extracurricular activity, I teach primary school children basic concepts about healthy living and the body in a fun and interactive way through TeddyBear Hospital.
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching all these different age groups, and the enriching experiences have endowed me with the ability to tailor the method of teaching to the target audience.

I focus on subjects that the student finds difficult, to individually tailor the experience to them.
For GCSE Maths and Sciences I talk-through concepts you find challenging and check understanding through offering practice questions.
For GCSE French, on some lessons I will provide worksheets which can be completed after the lesson and then emailed to me before the next lesson, so I may provide feedback before moving on. Rather than vocabulary, which is something you acquire and develop through exposure to the language, I focus on verb tenses and grammar.
