About Parkavi
I'm a 4th year medical student at UNSW. I graduated from ACSI in 2020 with an IB Diploma. Even though I'm halfway through my degree, I still enjoy learning what I study. Sometimes, I wish I could have been taught things better/learned concepts better. Hence, I turned to teaching. I worked my way up from just an average student to one of the top students in IB HL Biology, and subsequently into medical school. If I can do it, anyone can. And I want to inspire my students to dream big and work for them. So if they want to have a chat beyond just academics, I'm happy to lend a listening ear!

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is to help students discover their fullest potential.
I have been tutoring students from 13-18 years old for about a year. It's been a pleasure teaching them as it helps me uncover new perspectives about concepts together with students.
I encourage my students to ask questions, no matter how simple they might be. And I'll try my best to answer them until they have a thorough understanding. I generally like to focus on challenging their conceptual understanding first before going on to intense coaching (usually closer to exams). To me, students come first, so I adjust my teaching style and expectations to meet those of students.
Above all, I encourage them to love learning about the subject as learning is meant to be intriguing and fun. I love biology, that's why I'm a medical student. And I hope I could impart this love to my students too!
