About Ellen
I have always wanted to share my knowledge and love of science with others because I believe that understanding science leads to fondness of it. As a medical student, I feel a duty to help understand the material, especially those who may not have had this opportunity in school. I am patient and persistent, always looking for a more fun way to explain the material. I am willing to listen to what the problem is and adapt the method to each student, because I believe that everyone has their own individual approach.

I build my approach on a thorough understanding of the material, not on rote learning. The class begins with a brief check of what the student is unclear about, then we go through the material step by step with questions from my side to immediately check understanding. As a finalist in the national biology competition and a medical student, I know the material from a broader context, not just from the textbook. I am patient and adjust the pace to each student. The classes are intended for elementary and high school students: from those who need to start from scratch, to those who are aiming for an A, graduation or competition.
