About Alma
I am a medical student going into my second year of medical studies at the University of St Andrews and I would like to help others get medicine offers. I know how hard it can feel and so I have a supportive and encouraging approach. Whether it’s UCAT, personal statement or interview preparation, I can guide you and help you practise in order to achieve your best. My UCAT score was 2900 Band 1 and I interviewed at a range of universities that use different styles including MMI and panel, therefore I have the knowledge and skills to help anyone with their application. I can also help with applications to Ireland as I had an offer from Trinity College Dublin for medicine. I am also able to help with the A levels commonly taken by medicine applications - maths, biology and chemistry, as well as Spanish, as my grade was A* in all of these subjects.
Having tutored 2 GCSE pupils in maths and chemistry, taught English as a foreign language and taught science to a primary school class through voluntary roles, I have gained the skills of adaptability and creativity in teaching which allow me to mould my teaching style to the student and therefore create a personalised teaching plan to help them reach their goals.

I am able to tutor students for the UCAT, medical interviews, personal statements and/or A level maths, biology, chemistry and Spanish.
I use a range of teaching methods such as analogies and diagrams to ensure students stay engaged and focused, as well as tracking which methods work best for individual students so that I can tailor my approach to help them most effectively.
Having done the medicine application process myself not long ago, I understand the stress that often comes with it however my calm and friendly approach will help you gain confidence in your abilities. Coupled with clear, easily understandable advice, this will help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their medicine application.
