About Michael

- What kind of experience do you have? I've been a secondary school teacher in the West of London and a private tutor of both Maths and Physics for 25+ years, Head of Department. I provide tuition ONLINE only, 11 years online. I have taught students across the full ability range, students with moderate learning difficulties as well as those aiming to achieve top grades in GCSE and at A - Level. All of my advanced students have gone on to University, some to medical school and successful Oxford or Cambridge entrance. In my early years I gained experience as an examiner and that has enabled me to guide my students more effectively in preparation for GCSE and A - Level exams. I am very familiar with the requirements of the main Exam Boards and the recent changes to their specifications in both Maths and Physics. Over the last 10 years I have developed strategies, including Skype, Zoom and the latest advances in technology, to carry out tuition online, so that I can share my knowledge and enthusiasm with a wider range of students who would benefit from my help. Please ask me for details of how online tuition can work for you and see details below. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes I have an Enhanced DBS certificate. At our preliminary meeting my credentials, qualifications, DBS Certificate, will be presented to parents & student. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? My hourly tuition fees for 1-to-1 Online tuition are given below: My fee covers not only the hour of tuition, but also:- I offer the following, at no extra * providing personalised lesson notes at the end of each lesson;; * marking homework or past exam paper; * providing online expert support between lessons; I hope you will agree that the lesson fee is actually very good value for money. Fees: Preliminary meeting = £25 KS2 = £30 per hour KS3 = £40 per hour GCSE = £45 per hour A-Level = £50 per hour. Q - Where do you teach? I am based in Whitton, Twickenham, S. W. London. Initial Feedback:-
To begin with, last week - Fiona - Claudia's mother- and I, we had a detailed chat on the phone and followed this with a Skype / Zoom meeting where all 3 of us discussed the Physics tuition needed and my method for delivering effective tuition online.

This week Claudia and I met on Zoom for our first lesson - Physics A-Level.
We soon got into our stride, with Claudia communicating clearly, asking good questions and me writing our notes as our conversation progressed. We covered Newton's Laws of Motion, 1 and 2, saving his Third Law for another occasion and got started on "Work, Energy and Power". After the lesson I scanned our sheets of notes and sent them to Claudia. It's early days yet, but I feel we have made a very good start.

I got my GCSE Results earlier and thought I would let you know how I did. I got 5 B's and 6 C's so I have enrolled for college in and will be doing my A - Levels. I got a C in Science, which is good as I struggled in that subject, and a C in Maths. Just want to say a huge THANKYOU for pulling me through science & maths. You were a massive help and without your lessons I doubt I would have passed. So thankyou for getting me into college :)
