About Grace

Hello! My name is Grace — it’s lovely to meet you. I am currently completing my bachelor’s degree in microbiology and cell science through the University of Florida while working as a Registered Behavior Technician in Nashville, where I support and teach children with autism.

I have experience tutoring a wide variety of subjects and skill levels, ranging from basic life skills and foundational academics to high school biology and science courses. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, including students in the IB and GCSE programs. I have also tutored students with ADHD, dyslexia, and autism.

I have always loved science and biology, especially when I have the opportunity to explain concepts in a way that truly clicks for someone. I strongly believe that learning is most effective when it connects to a student’s individual interests, hobbies, and strengths, which is why I love getting to know each student personally and tailoring lessons to fit their learning style.

Growing up, I often struggled with more traditional teaching methods, so I understand how frustrating it can feel when material is presented in a way that doesn’t work for you. That experience has made me passionate about helping students build confidence and discover that they are capable of understanding and succeeding. I believe knowledge is a beautiful thing, and that every student can learn when they are supported in the right way.

About the lesson

I am happy to adapt to whatever teaching style works best for you! Every student learns differently, and part of my job is helping students discover the methods that allow them to learn most effectively and confidently.

For visual learners, I enjoy creating colorful, organized, and easy-to-follow notes that simplify information and make studying feel less overwhelming. I encourage students to think of their notes almost like a poster — engaging, memorable, and personalized to them.

For students who learn best through experience and application, I find that practice questions and mock tests are often the most effective approach. Some students prefer to talk through problems verbally, while others learn better working independently on paper or on-screen — both are great options.

Other students benefit most from repetition-based learning methods such as flashcards, rewriting notes, or reviewing material through discussion and recall practice. Sometimes simply talking through a difficult topic together can make all the difference.

And if none of these methods feel like the right fit yet, that’s completely okay! I would love to work with you to figure out what helps you learn best. I strongly believe that students deserve the opportunity to learn how to study smarter, not harder, and my goal is to help make learning feel approachable, achievable, and even enjoyable.
