About Bethany
My experience with Microsoft Excel began with a need to manage data efficiently and present it clearly. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Business Information Systems, where I developed expertise in data analysis and process optimization. Over 8 years of teaching, I have guided students from basic proficiency to advanced mastery, focusing on both technical skills and analytical thinking. I approach teaching with clarity, patience, and practical examples. Many students struggle initially because Excel is often presented as a set of disconnected commands. I focus on demonstrating the relationships between formulas, functions, and outputs, providing exercises that simulate real-world tasks. I encourage experimentation, problem solving, and critical thinking to reinforce understanding. Outside teaching, I continue exploring Excel and data management through personal projects, professional tasks, and staying updated with new features. Teaching Excel is rewarding because I see students gain competence, confidence, and independence, applying their knowledge creatively in academic and professional contexts.

Excel becomes intuitive when learners understand how its features can be applied to solve practical problems efficiently. My lessons focus on formulas, functions, data visualization, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and automation through practical, step-by-step instruction. I emphasize clarity and logic, helping students not only execute commands but also understand the reasoning behind them. Lessons are interactive, providing hands-on practice that reinforces learning and builds confidence.
Lesson content is adapted to each student’s proficiency. Beginners focus on basic navigation, simple formulas, and data organization. Intermediate learners explore more complex functions, charts, conditional formatting, and data validation. Advanced learners learn pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros, and scenario analysis. Each lesson integrates practical exercises and real-world examples to ensure knowledge is immediately applicable.
