About Callum

I started to study languages in school, like most people. I felt a real affinity with them almost straight away, so when I went to secondary school and got the opportunity to study two, I couldn't wait. I kept studying French and Spanish throughout secondary school, being one of only two students in my year to study two languages for A Level. Then when I started to apply for university, I made sure to find places where I could study Italian as well as French and Spanish, which is exactly what I ended up doing.

I feel a real love for languages generally, specifically the languages that I speak. I love being able to communicate in and understand a different languages, it gives me a real sense of fulfillment and accomplishment, and I want to help other people feel that way too.

Understanding foreign languages also opens you up to so many new experiences, places and cultures, which is something I got to experience firsthand while on my year abroad. I would love to be able to share that with people.

About the lesson

I am Callum, a Modern Languages graduate looking to tutor in French, Spanish, and Italian.

I started to learn French and Spanish when I started secondary school in 2008, and Italian when I started university in 2015. Because of this, I am well suited to tutor French and Spanish from beginner level up to A Level, and Italian for beginners.

My teaching style is quite casual I would say, as I think it is important for the student to be at ease, especially in one on one situations such as these. I would teach for an hour at a time, and would include slide shows where I would run through material at the pace that the student needs, with quizzes at the end of each session to recap what we have just covered, in addition to a quiz at the start of the next session to make sure that what has been taught is being remembered.
