About Ivy
With an MSc in Mathematics and 7 years of teaching experience, I have guided students across multiple levels, from high school to university courses. My teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, engagement, and interactive learning. I use visualisations, real-world examples, and practical exercises to help students internalise concepts and develop a deeper understanding. Each lesson is designed to be dynamic and participatory, encouraging students to ask questions and explore multiple approaches. I structure lessons to make abstract mathematical concepts tangible through step-by-step explanations, examples, and visualisations. I integrate real-life applications, such as financial modelling, physics-related calculations, and data analysis, to show the relevance of mathematics in everyday situations. Lessons include guided problem-solving, reasoning challenges, and interactive exercises to strengthen logical thinking and analytical skills. I use graphs, diagrams, and visualisation tools to enhance comprehension. By the end of each session, students can approach problems methodically, understand formulae deeply, and apply mathematical reasoning confidently, preparing them for exams and practical applications. I emphasise conceptual connections across topics, helping students see patterns and relationships between different branches of mathematics, which enhances memory and problem-solving ability.
