About Chantel
I am a 3rd year music teacher based in Missouri. I have taught preschool through 12th grade general music, choir, and instrumental classes. Many of my general music classes involved music theory. I have taught private vocal lessons, piano lessons, and assisted students with music theory regarding other instruments (violin, saxophone, flute, etc.) I enjoy music theory and learning new ways to present these concepts to different types of learners.

I believe all students have the ability to learn music, it just takes varying degrees of time for them to work through concepts. Some students need extra reinforcement that the traditional classroom cannot provide, whether the class is big or the time allotted is too small. I would love to be an extra resource for your student as they embark on this music journey!
- A typical lesson plan would go as follows:
-greetings
-review of concepts from last lesson, and clarifying any content questions before beginning new things
-Ask what they are currently studying and see what I can help teach/assist with understanding.
-Introduction to new/related theory concept for the day
-Work together through examples and break things down step by step.
-Student uses new information to teach me what we just learned, showing mastery of knowledge and concepts!
-Closing/review
-Ask question's regarding what they learned today, and sign off until our next lesson
-This is a rough timeline and is always open to variations
- I am a 3rd year teacher staying home with my new baby. I am still wanting to teach and would love to teach theory to those who need it!
-My tutoring skills would best assist beginning or intermediate music students (middle or highschoolers and occasionally some freshman in college)I believe
