My name is Caoimhe Doherty. I completed my Grade 8 in Traditional Irish Flute playing in 2019 and have continued to enjoy playing since. I would be delighted to start teaching the skill to others.

About Caoimhe
I am a graduate from the University of Galway with a Bachelors Degree in General Science. In college I loved attending sessions and learning new tunes. Now, I am still in Galway, working away and, my passion for the Irish music is still with me. I would love to start working with students of any age or skills set to help achieve their goals of becoming a flute player. The Irish music is something I have always been very passionate about as well as other genres of music I learned at school. I am from and grew up in Donegal, starting the flute at the age of 8. I enjoyed every second of it and lessons definitely helped me in school with my performing in groups and on my own. I completed my final Grade 8 at the age of 17 and it was an amazing achievement and wonderful feeling to begin my journey as an independent flute player.

Lessons would be planned for an hour each week. At beginner level, I would teach the basics such as reading sheet music, playing music by ear, and different techniques for developing a strong and clear tone. I am open to all skill levels and happy to teach and share my 9 years of experience.
