About Lauren
As a certified Teaching English for a Second Language (TEFL) instructor, I believe that learning should go beyond using textbooks or workbooks for the entirety of a lesson. It's important to examine words in context and explore how they are used in expression and creativity as well as reality while considering students' interests.
Aside from being a teacher, I'm also a travel enthusiast who loves planning trips. Coloring is a hobby of mine as it helps me relax. I've recently started kayaking in the ocean, and I try to do it more often since it's also a great workout. I enjoy watching action movies and Kdrama.

As both a teacher and a tutor, my role is to support learning. Depending on the student's level of English proficiency, I can either teach the fundamentals or work with them towards fluency. In any case, I always begin with an assessment to determine the starting point.
To determine a student's starting level, an assessment is conducted based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards. Presentation Practice and Production (PPP) method to develop lesson plans.
This approach includes a 5-minute warm-up where I model how to discuss the topic and introduce new vocabulary words.
During the 15-minute Presentation stage, I explain the meaning of these words and show how to use them in context.
The Practice stage gives students 10 minutes to work on individual or pair exercises, allowing them to practice the lesson at hand while I observe and only offer assistance as needed.
The 20-minute Production stage involves group work, where students engage in collaborative written and spoken assignments, such as role plays, stories, or giving directions.
After the Production stage, we do a 10-minute review to share the work done and go over what the students have learned.
To cater to different learning styles, I use multimedia in my lessons, incorporating visual, audio, and modeling components.
