About Bethany
It's important to me that learning is fun! Although my full-time job right now is working on my PhD, I like spending time in nature (hiking, running, gardening) and creating art (painting, woodworking, ceramic art). These activities also greatly add to my scientific research perspective and learning overall.
In my undergraduate education, I completed a B.S. in Neuroscience and Minor in Studio Art. I love to think about the brain and complex processes in the world, and work with other peers or students I'm tutoring to facilitate their learning and encourage them in the pursuit of education.

I work with students at various knowledge levels and tailor my tutoring style to their specific needs. I have a multi-modal approach to teaching, which means that I incorporate examples from real life and different areas of life and learning to help students understand whatever specific topic they are learning.
This frequently looks like working 1-1 with the student to help train their brain to make connections to other relevant topics, which reinforces their overall learning.
