About Mira
"Acting is all about love. And no one can resist love - nor want they, right?" Mira Rakhmanova. Born to a large multicultural family I showed signs that destined me to be a person of unique willpower and creativity from a very young age. Being successful in business and corporate world, I still couldn't resist my passion for performing arts and eventually found myself as Assistant director of Pyotr Fomenko Theatre one of the leading theatrical companies in Moscow. From there my path was defined and brought me to profound studies of acting both in Russian and American traditions: as a trainee to the best drama teachers in Moscow and finally as a graduate of 2-year Certificate program from the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York, where later on I pursued my professional teaching career. I currently live in New York working mostly in film and TV, the latest projects include "The Americans" (s3, ep6) and "House of Cards" (s3).

My technique rests upon the combination of the Lee Strasberg's method, Stanislavsky tradition and psychology. I believe that discovering individual talent and natural uniqueness in each one of my students is the key to building actor's craft. I know how complex and fragile this path may be and I want to provide emotional support and personal attention. What exactly I teach: -preparation for the role/audition -Drama therapy -Script analysis -Working with trauma through acting -Monologue prep -Character work -Voice for the actor -Movement for the actor -Honing skills and mastering craft for the professionals -Help to build a personalized technique that works for you-
