About Luke
I have been teaching for 8 years. In that time, I have spent 5 years as head of geography which involved improving the department to become one of best performing in the UK. In 2 years, we moved from 53% A-C to 83%. On average, students performed at least 1.1 grades higher than predicted, with 40% of all students achieving top grades of 9-7.
To top things off, I led the department through the Secondary Geography Quality Mark - an award from the Geography Association. This drastically improved how students engaged and enjoyed the subject and saw a doubling of students taking the subject at both GCSE and A-Level.
Not only will you get the best from me as a teacher, but from my own experience as a student too. Holding a first class degree in human geography and an MSc with distinction means I can readily push you towards getting those top grades!

When you sign up to learn with me, you will benefit from my masters in educational neuroscience. We'll work through engaging lessons and unpack tricky content in a way that feels easy. You can show me what you find difficult and we will plan a strategy that breaks down the key content and skills to quickly raise your grades. You will also benefit from enhanced exam practice as a result of my examiner training, making sure that you learn how to access every single mark of the exam.
To make sure you get the most out of our 60 minutes together, I will signpost what you need to prepare as well as giving you some activities to take away and complete. You will also get feedback on any practice papers or exam questions that you complete and this can also be shared with your teacher should you wish.
