My techniques and teaching methodology include:
1. Individualized Learning Plans:
Assessment of Knowledge: I begin with an assessment to gauge the student’s current level of understanding. Tailored Lessons: I customise the learning plan based on assessment results, focusing on areas that need improvement. Goal Setting: Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals.
2. Active Learning: Interactive Sessions: I encourage students to participate actively through discussions, Q&A sessions, and problem-solving exercises. Real-World Applications: Relate theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, especially in biology and medicine, to make learning more relevant and engaging.
3. Conceptual Understanding: I break down complex concepts into simpler parts and use analogies where appropriate. Visual Aids: in my PowerPoints I utilise diagrams, charts, and videos to illustrate key points.
4. Practice and Reinforcement: Regular Exercises: Provide exercises and past exam papers for practice. Immediate Feedback: Offer prompt feedback on your performance, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
5. Development of Critical Thinking: as a student from Oxford my USP is that I have the skill set to develop your Problem-Solving Skills by, particularly for subjects like maths and science. Encouraging Questions: Foster a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
6. Examination Techniques:Exam Strategies: Teach time management, question analysis, and answer structuring techniques for exams.Mock Exams: Conduct regular mock exams under timed conditions to build exam readiness.
I typically offer 60 minute lessons online but I’m flexible.
I am currently a 5th year medical student at Oxford university and already have a 2.1 in Bachelor of Arts in medical sciences. For a levels I did maths biology chemistry in which I got A* A* A.
