About Caleb
I’m a DPhil (PhD) student in Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford, and I also teach undergraduates in labs and small-group tutorials. I really enjoy helping students work through problems, giving hints and guidance so they can reach the answer themselves—there’s nothing better than seeing that “click” moment when it all makes sense.
I like to bring chemistry to life with real-world examples and stories behind discoveries, which makes the subject more engaging and easier to remember.
I strongly believe students make the most progress when they feel comfortable asking questions, so I always encourage them to stop me at any point if they need clarification, creating a supportive environment where they can build confidence and understanding at their own pace.

I’m a final-year DPhil (PhD) student in Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford, and I also teach undergraduates in labs and small tutorials. I love helping students work through problems and seeing that “click” moment when it all makes sense.
I tutor GCSE and A-level Chemistry, and I especially enjoy helping students understand organic chemistry and improve their exam technique. I focus on explaining the underlying logic rather than just memorising, which makes the subject much easier to grasp.
My lessons are tailored to each student. We work through questions together, I give hints rather than just answers, and I make sure students feel comfortable stopping me to ask anything. I strongly believe that students make the most progress when they feel able to ask questions and say when they don’t understand something, so I always encourage active engagement. My goal is to help students build confidence, improve their understanding, and make steady progress through the course.
