About Sruthi
Hello! I'm Sruthi, a master's student at the University of Oxford. I was the University Valedictorian during my bachelor's in Industrial Biotechnology and I am now studying to become a Cancer Scientist.
I was also selected as a Felix Scholar at Oxford, owing to my vast knowledge and skillset in Biology and its related subjects.

My journey of overcoming odds, developing independence, and taking responsibility, includes the incident of impacting the lives of underprivileged children of South India through structured and sincere hard work. Notably, when familiarized with the cause of the lack of accessibility to education amongst these children, I was driven to work in that space. For three years now, I volunteered at NIRAI Trust – a non-governmental organization working in this direction. Associated with this body, I became a part of various initiatives concerning uplifting school dropouts and was proud to have helped a number of them obtain decent educational experiences.
Since it has always been my dream to inspire others to see education as an opportunity to experience a positive change and meet people who share similar goals, I kick-started an organization named "The White Coat Society" that would serve as a valuable educational, social, creative, and cultural outlet to the university community. At both organizations, I had immense experience in one-on-one as well as group sessions and made sure my students and fellow mates achieved their academic goals. I am proud of having played a key role in motivating and assisting them in gaining knowledge.
At this platform, I intend to not only help students academically but also to support them in inspiring, dreaming, and growing as a person, by sharing experiences and values, I gained throughout my educational period.
As an Oxford graduate, I can also assist students on Oxbridge admissions to get their career started at Oxford.
As a Cancer biologist and a teacher, I want to make a difference and leave a positive impact! I would indulge in a culture of personalized teaching that would encourage students to go beyond the facts stated in textbooks and challenge them which facilitates learning in a way that isn’t possible through lectures. I will also provide them with an environment where they can take their subject and knowledge as far as they want it to go. With me, students could combine science and creativity, to explore their specific interests in Biology. I assure to undertake interactive, friendly, and student-specific approaches for every child. All my lessons are well-structured, enjoyable, and specifically designed to suit each student’s requirements. I develop a plan of action to meet each student's goals and encourage them to question more in order to attain a deep understanding of the student. I also conduct periodic tests and indulge students in multiple revisions and exam techniques.
