About Yasti
My name is Yasti Balalee, and I am passionate about helping students achieve their best. I bring enthusiasm, dedication, and a strong foundation in teaching methodologies. I have practical experience teaching Grade 4 Mathematics and Social Sciences during my month-long school placement, which has given me valuable insights into creating engaging and effective lessons tailored to young learners. I want learners to feel that they are heard and that I will always be able to hear them out, whether it be educational or emotional. I am well equipped with valuable skills such as time management (creating a good lesson plans and presenting them), problem-solving (capable of swiftly addressing and resolving any challenges that might arise during the lesson) and emotional intelligence (effectively handling challenges such as conflicts or setbacks, and being empathetic). These skills make me stand out and positively influence young minds.
Education isn’t just about teaching concepts or delivering lessons; it’s about building meaningful connections with students, understanding their unique needs, and creating a supportive environment where they feel valued and inspired. I believe that relating to students on a personal level and making learning relevant to their lives are key to fostering growth, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Through empathy and engagement, I aim to make every lesson a chance to connect, empower, and help students reach their full potential.

My approach to private tutoring focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I use an interactive and discovery-based methodology, encouraging students to explore concepts while building confidence in their abilities. I am proficient in English, with Afrikaans as my first additional language, and I have a basic understanding of isiZulu terms and phrases. This allows me to teach comfortably in English or Afrikaans. My lessons are structured yet flexible, starting with clear objectives, including engaging activities, and concluding with a recap to reinforce understanding. I prioritize open communication to ensure students feel confident asking questions and sharing their thoughts.
My lessons are aimed at Grade 4 learners who need support in Mathematics and Social Sciences. Whether students need help grasping challenging concepts, improving their skills, or boosting their confidence, my personalized approach ensures they achieve their learning goals while enjoying the process.
