I came across Ruby on Superprof when I was looking for a yoga teacher for 1-on-1 sessions since I work from home a lot and would like to incorporate yoga practices in my routine. At first I was just looking for movement-based yoga (hatha/vinyasa) but then through Ruby I discovered the less common style - Yin yoga.

I would say it changes my life. The way Yin yoga is designed to allow our muscles and tissues to open up with longer duration of holds in poses, and the fact that there is no alignment rule shocked me. Through Ruby's Yin yoga classes I started understanding the true purpose of yoga - it's not about the movements and the poses, it's about the mind.

The traditional chinese medicine and meridian bits of Yin yoga is fascinating, in each session with Ruby, I learn a bit more about them. Sometimes she would play her tibetan singing bowls in the class and it again opened my eyes to the power of healing in the sound therapy realm.

I connected with Ruby through Superprof while seeking a knowledgeable Hatha Yoga instructor in London. I engaged with her on 1-on-1 Hatha classes (both online and in-person at my home)

Ruby's teaching style focuses on mindfulness - cultivating a sense of awareness and connection with my body. Her Hatha classes are well thought out and designed (according to my need and objectives), each session focuses on a topic/theme. Her emphasis on functional over aesthetic (NOT getting into poses to look good but rather finding the shape which works for my body) is powerful, it changes my mind about 'yoga is only for flexible people and when I cannot do certain pretty poses, I am bad at yoga'.

Ruby is a dedicated and passionate yoga teacher, I cannot recommend her more to anyone who would like to practise yoga and find the connection of their mind, body and soul to take her classes.

I can't wait to start taking her Yin classes and potentially with singing bowls.
