About Lorna

I’m a postgraduate student in Clinical Psychology with a strong passion for helping others grow academically and personally. I believe that every student has a unique story to tell, and I want to help you tell yours! My goal is to unlock your potential and boost your confidence in English. Whether you’re diving into literary classics or tackling essay writing, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

Having worked with students from various backgrounds, including those with learning difficulties like dyslexia, I’ve seen firsthand how the right guidance can transform a student's experience. I see every student as a learning opportunity to improve my tutoring, and I am always looking for ways to enhance my skills.

Teaching allows me to combine my academic background with my love for connecting with people and guiding them toward success. I am a very sociable person with excellent communication skills, and I strive to provide a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere during my lessons. You will never have a chance to get bored!

My lessons feature interactive discussions where we can chat about your favorite books or explore new themes together—your thoughts matter! Expect a mix of creative materials, including literature, articles, and even some multimedia fun to keep things fresh and exciting. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grow, become more confident, and realize what they’re truly capable of!

About the lesson

I offer a flexible tutoring approach, adapting to your specific needs and learning style to ensure you get the most out of every session. With experience supporting students with learning difficulties, I am committed to working in the best way possible to suit you, regardless of your personal challenges. My goal is to make learning both enjoyable and structured, with a customised plan developed collaboratively to achieve the best results.

You'll benefit from quizzes, weekly and monthly reviews, a variety of learning resources, and a tailored study program designed around your lifestyle and academic goals. Each lesson lasts an hour, with the option for extended time if you need breaks.

While my primary subject is English, I also offer academic skills tutoring and student coaching for learners from primary school to university. If you're looking for more than just lessons, I'm here to support your broader academic journey.
I understand how to connect with students of all ages and can quickly identify their learning preferences. You can trust that my lessons are both effective and focused on delivering solid, measurable improvements!
