About Jenny

Hi, I'm Jen, born and raised in Nairobi and I have two passions — language and numbers.

I spent years working professionally in finance and banking, which means Maths is not just something I studied — it is something I have lived and applied every single day. But beyond the professional side, I have always had a natural ability to explain things clearly and make complex concepts feel simple. That is a gift I want to use.

I am also a native Swahili speaker which means if your child is more comfortable learning in Swahili, we can do that too. No problem at all.

What drives me as a tutor is that moment when something clicks for a student. When you can see it in their face. That shift from confusion to confidence. That is why I do this.

I am patient, encouraging, and I genuinely care about every student I work with. I adapt to each child, figure out where they are struggling, and find the right way in for them specifically.

Outside of tutoring I am passionate about my faith, music, and connecting with people from all walks of life .

About the lesson

I believe every child can do Maths — they just need someone who explains it the right way for them.

My approach is simple. I slow everything right down, break concepts into small manageable steps, and never move on until it genuinely makes sense. No rushing, no pressure, no making a child feel bad for not getting it immediately. Just clear, patient, encouraging teaching that builds real confidence alongside real results.

I use everyday examples to make numbers feel less scary and more relevant — because once a child sees Maths in real life situations, something shifts and it stops feeling like an impossible subject.

I have a Finance degree and am a CPA Finalist so numbers are something I have worked with professionally for years. I know how to make them accessible for anyone at any level.

What we cover:
Number operations, fractions and decimals, word problems, geometry basics, measurement, and data handling — everything a Grade 4, 5, 6 student needs to build a strong foundation.
Lessons run 60 minutes — or 45 minutes for younger students who need shorter sessions.

Who this is for:
Primary school students from Grade 4 to Grade 6, aged 9–12, who need patient and structured support to build confidence and improve their results in Mathematics. I follow the CBC curriculum.
