About Laura
Hi there, I'm Laura. I have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and I’ve been tutoring since 2007. I also have classroom experience teaching ACT prep to high school students since 2021. When I’m tutoring, my goal is to meet students where they’re at, work with their strengths, fill in content gaps, and have fun along the way. In a typical session we can cover homework questions, problem solving skills, test prep, study skills, example problems, pre-teaching, and applied concepts. It is a joy to help students who feel stuck gain confidence in school and improve their grades. I’ve also worked in corporate and university labs including 3M, Ecolab, Chromadex Analytics, University of Idaho, and Colorado State University. In addition, I have a teaching certification in mindfulness meditation from UC Berkeley.

I tutor chemistry, math, and ACT (primarily math and science sections). Through customized tutoring sessions we not only learn content, but also develop confidence, strengthen study skills, develop problem solving strategies, and time management practices. As a result, students not only see the fruits of their efforts by improved grades but also have learned strategies that they can apply—not only through academics, but also career and life.
